Community Building

In my formative years, my parents imparted an important lesson that has been a guiding force in my life – the importance of active participation in the community. This invaluable wisdom instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and a belief that contributing to the well-being of others is not just commendable but essential.

My journey in community involvement began by observing my Mom's commitment to community. She was actively involved in our school, church, and community events, all while working full-time as well as being a parent. Mom often dragged us girls around to events, and we often grumbled about having to go. But looking back, those are some of my fondest memories.

As I have grown older, I have found this lesson of commitment to community to be crucial. It is my sincere hope that these efforts contribute to fostering a stronger sense of unity and belonging within our community.

Purple Pals

Purple Pals is my proudest accomplishment and a testament to my commitment to community! Purple Pals is an official 501c3 connecting college students to people in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease across the Midwest. Purple Pals was founded at the University of Kansas in 2019. Since then we have partnered with various organizations, survived a pandemic, and continued to expand into several different states.

Miss Kansas Volunteer

I served one transformative year as Miss Kansas Volunteer and it has truly been giving back to me since my time has been up. The crown opened up endless doors and provided me with the chance to meet people from all across the United States. I am honored to have placed in the Top 15 and won the SERVE Award for my work with Purple Pals at Miss Volunteer America. This experience truly changed the trajectory of my life.
